Michael Silverman

Managing Director

Michael Silverman is managing director and founder of Samantha Brands Group with a focus on general management, portfolio management, deal construction, and finance. Michael is a lifelong investor and entrepreneur. He grew up in California and has worked in a family office investment environment throughout his career. He attended the University of Southern California where he received his BA in Philosophy and the University of Denver Sturm College of Law where he received his Juris Doctor; he is a current member of the Colorado Bar.

Michael is also co-founder of Silverback Holdings, a family office investment company which he co-founded with his younger sister, Samantha. Michael’s investment activities span multiple industries including technology, retail, real estate, and consumer brands.

In his free time Michael loves skiing, hiking, Crossfit, and traveling.

Josh Holmstrom 

Operating Partner

Josh Holmstrom is an operating partner at SBG with a focus on marketing strategy, general management, new product development, and consumer research. Josh is a 17 year CPG veteran, working in a variety of marketing leadership roles across PepsiCo (Gatorade, Tropicana, Quaker Oats), WhiteWave Foods (Silk and Horizon Organic) and most recently New Belgium Brewing, where he was the VP of Marketing. Josh has a successful track record of developing marketing strategies to drive growth of existing brands, identifying new portfolio opportunities and repositioning turn around brands for growth. Josh as also co-founded two start-ups and has a passion for entrepreneurship.

Josh has a B.S in Business and Marketing from University of Utah, (1996) as well an MBAfocused on Marketing and Entrepreneurship from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University (2002). Josh loves spending time in the outdoors with his two little girls and wife in Boulder or wandering the aisles of his local food retailers looking for new and interesting natural food brands. Outside of SBG, he has a passion for skiing, hiking and traveling.

Jon Dunham

Operating Partner

Jon Dunham is an operating partner at SBG, with a special focus on sales, category management, broker management and trade. Jon brings over 20 years of CPG experience to SBG with experience at companies such as General Mills, MillerCoors and most recently WhiteWave Foods where he was Sr. Director of Sales. Jon's focus is on generating optimal performance with existing retailers while finding new locations to share our growing brands with more consumers.

Jon received his BA in Business Administration from Texas A&M.  Jon has a love for all things outside in Colorado with a passion for fly-fishing.  He also enjoys keeping up with his kids outdoor activities and sports schedules.  He is on the Board of Directors for Sonlight Christian Camp in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
